Why does this calculator use "Standard" STEP fees?
▾
Because that's Amazon's own default for new sellers: every seller starts at Standard and stays there until evaluated. If your account has moved to a different STEP level, your actual fees may be lower (Advanced/Premium) or higher (Basic) than shown here.
What is STEP, and could my actual fees be different?
▾
STEP is Amazon's performance-based seller program with four levels: Basic, Standard, Advanced, Premium. Amazon evaluates sellers quarterly on metrics like cancellation rate, late dispatch, and returns. Moving up reduces your weight handling fees; falling to Basic increases them. See the
full guide for exact numbers at each level.
How is my product's GST rate determined?
▾
By your product's HSN code, not by Amazon. Check yours on
gst.gov.in or confirm with your CA. Common slabs are 0%, 5%, 18%, and 40%.
How is the Self Ship courier cost estimated?
▾
We use the average of India Post and BlueDart rates for your product's weight. You can overwrite this with your actual courier rate for a more accurate comparison.
What's the difference between FBA, Easy Ship, Seller Flex, and Self Ship?
▾
FBA: Amazon stores, packs, and ships for you. Easy Ship: you pack, Amazon picks up and delivers. Seller Flex: you run your own warehouse, Amazon handles pickup and delivery (invite-only). Self Ship: you handle everything, including delivery. Full comparison (including Prime eligibility for each) in the
guide.
Why is my closing fee or referral fee showing as ₹0?
▾
Not a bug: most categories genuinely have a 0% referral fee and reduced or waived closing fees below a price threshold (commonly ₹1,000). This is also exactly why the price cliff warning shows up.
What is a "Price Cliff"?
▾
A price cliff happens when crossing a price threshold (commonly ₹1,000) triggers a jump in fees, sometimes significant enough that a product priced just above the threshold nets less profit than the same product priced just below it. Our calculator automatically checks for this and flags it, so you're never caught off guard by a fee jump you didn't expect.
Does this calculator include Long-Term Storage Fees?
▾
No. Amazon charges an additional storage fee on top of regular storage costs for inventory that's been sitting in a fulfilment centre for an extended period (typically 365+ days) without selling. This calculator estimates per-unit profit at the point of sale, so it doesn't factor in how long a specific unit sat in storage beforehand. If you're carrying aged inventory, check your Inventory Age report in Seller Central.
Does this calculator include FC Removal Fees?
▾
No. A removal fee applies only if you choose to have Amazon return or dispose of unsold inventory from its fulfilment centres: it's a one-time charge tied to that decision, not part of a regular sale. Since it depends on your own removal choices rather than the transaction itself, it sits outside what a per-unit profit calculator can estimate.
